At Hilton Herbs we are acutely aware of the responsibility we have to both our customers and their animals and pets. As pet, horse, and poultry owners ourselves we understand how important it is to know exactly where their food comes from, and what steps are taken to ensure that it is is safe, effective, and 'fit for purpose'.

At Hilton Herbs we are proud to hold EFSIS (European Feed Safety Inspection Service) accreditation. This requires our company to operate under the UFAS (Universal Feed Assurance Scheme) certificated scheme. We come under this scheme because our products are exported all over the world and, whether you agree with it or not, horse meat is eaten in some European countries so we are therefore required to comply with legislation governing the manufacture of products fed to animals in the food chain.

We make no distinction between the products we manufacture for horses, dogs, poultry, or birds, and deliberately choose to apply the same exacting standards to every product we manufacture.

All the ingredients in Hilton Herbs products are purchased from EFSIS-accredited suppliers who confirm plant identity and freedom from contamination by other plant species. Our suppliers grade and air-blow the herbs to remove any dust and then pass them through a ferrous metal detector prior to shipment.

Our Herbal tinctures are sourced from a company whose premises are licensed by the UK's Medicine Healthcare Regulations Authority (MRHA) and who comply with Good Manufacturing Practice for Pharmaceuticals.

Certification under the UFAS scheme ensures full traceability of all ingredients from 'field to feed'. Throughout the manufacturing process regular checks are carried out, and samples taken, to ensure that the herbs are free from contamination by Salmonella, heavy metals, and pesticide residues.

Each year our premises are inspected by an independently appointed auditor to ensure that all our raw materials, manufacturing, and quality control procedures comply with the strict EFSIS and UFAS controls and requirements.

In the USA Hilton Herbs is a member of the National Animal Supplements Council (NASC)) which operates a similar auditing scheme to EFSIS. The NASC membership is made up of animal supplements manufacturers committed to the highest standards of quality in the industry.  At Hilton Herbs we are proud to hold the NASC's 'Seal of Quality', we have been audited by the NASC for the last 4 years and have been awarded a compliance rating of 'A' by the association for our manufacturing and Quality Control procedures. Hilton Herbs is the ONLY UK company to hold the NASC's Seal of Quality.

Hilton Herbs is also a member of BETA. (British Equestrian Trade Association) and abides by the strict codes of conduct set down by this organisation. Our Medical Herbalist, Hilary Self BSc MNIMH, sits on the BETA Feed Committee, thereby ensuring that the company is kept up-to-date with the very latest European feed legislation.

We source all our herbs from sustainable sources and do not use any plant species that are endangered, under threat, or appear on the CITES list and the very nature of our raw materials precludes Genetically Modified crops.
